the bride wore handknits

She did wear the stockings. Unfortunately, my mom had pre-laced them a bit tightly so we didn't get them up over her knees. You can just see the garter peaking out from under her crinoline.

It was the most fantabulous wedding ever. I highly recommend theme weddings. The pirate ship cake, the talk like a pirate vows, the guys and guests in costume (the groom and groomsmen did not wear shoes, which isn't so much piratical as it is so totally my new brother-in-law). Everyone loved it.

In other news, I also knit this. It's a mini sweater egg cozy from the weekend knits book. We're making them for one of our lunch time knitters. She leaves us to go back to Germany this weekend. We're going to hang them on a line with itty bitty clothespins.

On the way to VT, I started my Mom's birthday sweater. I don't think I'll ever finish. I know it's sleeveless, but knit on size 3s? It's go with the flow from Fiona Ellis's inspired Cable Knits. I'm knitting it in Rowan 4Ply cotton.

Sounds like a fantastic wedding. Lots of fun. Do you have a photo of the pirate ship cake?

Just think - if you get used to knitting on threes, you'll soon think Dale of Norway sweaters are easy! Then you'll be REALLY dangerous.

Oh, more photos of the wedding, please! I like the socks anyway, even below the knee.
