February Lady sweater

(Even though I keep thinking of that stupid Fergie song) I really, really want to knit the February Lady Sweater, available for free through Ravelry.

That means I have to cast on the sleeves for M-i-L's Ariann asap and get the whole thing done. Did I mention that I cast-on a couple of weeks ago and finished the body?

I've got some ASC Melange in pink that I really, really want to cast on with.

Tonight's for sewing though. I cut out the pieces to a reversible apron, sewed the ties and the pocket edging. Now, I need to sew on the pockets and sew the body together. Piece of cake.

Of course, we go down the shore tomorrow, so I won't be using the apron until at least Monday.

seeing stones cast on

This is actually, the second attempt (or is it the third, nah, we'll call the first one a swatch since it was even smaller than this). The first attempt was nearly to the heel when I discovered that it wouldn't fit my foot. I ripped it and cast on with eight more stitches. I really should try this one before it gets to big.

sharing some happies

A lovely colleague who's position has been eliminated and who's last day is Friday, stopped by and gave me this yesterday. It's handspun by her daughter-in-law. (Gosh, is that how you spell daughter? It looks so wrong.) It's merino and loverly. Socks, a shawl, something else?

I bought these for myself. $4 at the deli up the block. I moved to a new office and it has a small table and chairs. Soon as I knew I was moving, I decided to get flowers once a week. A little joy.

Finally, Molly decided to see if we had any breakfast leftovers while Billy and I were upstairs. I think she got tired of looking. When I walked into the room her chin had been down on her paws. This is her "what's it to you" face. Actually, she was just about to bark at me.

where have I been?

Having some summer fun (particularly proud of my dude for going into the ocean), finishing a couple of things, working, you know, the usual. I just haven't felt compelled to blog. I'm going to try to be around a bit more. If I'm not going to post, I should at least leave some comments.

This little BSJ was gifted to a mommy-to-be the other day. She was really pleased. I hope baby likes it, too.
